We specialized in barn and shop slabs and have become the go to company for them because we don’t cut corners! Starting with a properly dug foundation and having the grade cut correctly is key to a perfect slab of concrete that will last the life of the building and more! Once the footings and deck are dug then it’s time for the reinforcing rods, or rebar. The rebar is one of the integral parts of concrete that are overlooked but play a major part of the strength of the pad. Concrete carries an ideal amount of compressive strength, meaning it won’t crush under load, but it lack tension, meaning it fails easily when pulled apart. This can occur when a heavy vehicle is sitting in the center of the building pushing down on the concrete over a settled void in the the dirt underneath. The reaber uses mechanical bonds to keep the concrete aggregate pulled together for a crack free finish.
Once the rebar is in place and secured to itself properly we can pour the concrete inside our forms and start the finishing process. We can broom finish for a rougher texture giving ultimate grip, or burnish the top layer of concrete to a glossy smooth, shiny finish
